Cooloola Waters Retirement Resort Testimonials

Owners & Directors of Cooloola Waters Retirement Resort
I would like to express my delight at moving into the Retirement Village in Tin Can Bay and commend the owners for the way the grounds are kept in such good order and to thank the gardener staff for their friendliness and help they have given me.
I am delighted to be in my unit which was sold to me in excellent condition and the help and support I received from Desley when purchasing the unit was extremely helpful. It made the moving into the Village an easy and stress free event.
I have also found Rob to be open and friendly and the people who live here are caring and ready to welcome a new person into the Village.
I would recommend living in the Cooloola Waters Retirement Village to anyone and love to show off my unit to my friends and let them know how happy I am to be here.
Thank you,
Marg Smith

Why I Will Never Leave Cooloola Waters
The day I discovered Cooloola Waters Retirement Resort I thought I had won Lotto. The long search was over and I’ve lived in this beautiful village now for six years. A man of my age craves peace and quiet and that commodity is in abundance here. We have a wonderful like-minded community here and yet we all retain our own individuality.
One only has to walk 100 metres to enter a piece of paradise, the beautiful foreshore of Tin Can Bay itself. The view across the bay is superb, with the sunlight flickering on the ripples in the foreground and beyond are the moored white yachts gently rocking on the blue ribbon that denotes the channel. One feels he could walk forever through the beautiful wallum country that accompanies the foreshore. The sun streams down through the trees and their glistening leaves, forever creating changing patterns on the ground beneath them. The complexity and divergence in their species only adds to the magic of the scene.
Overhead I hear the chatter of a myriad of multi-coloured birds as they frolic in their element, intent upon their own business. Their cacophony of sound, is as beautiful as it is unfathomable, as a marvelous orchestral piece of music.
Another of my joys is walking through the village and admiring its garden setting. Every villa’s entrance is positioned to overlook its own garden and those of others. One cannot help admiring the beauty that blossoms forth, from the alluring flowers, whose colours mirror those of a rainbow. They are surrounded by manicured hedges and trees along with meticulously mown lawns. This display is the result of the gardener’s efforts and, might I add, a great deal of ingenuity and assistance from the occupants who experience great pleasure from this pursuit. This indulgence is voluntary.
The club house is another of my haunts, with its extensive activities in which one can delight. It features a large area which can be used as a party venue or many other occasions when we gather to indulge in a repast prepared by a group of residents. For the connoisseur these evenings are not to be missed. One can play snooker or use the exercise equipment, housed in its own room; but personally I prefer foraging around in the library, one never knows what may come to light. The other major feature of this building is the indoor heated swimming pool which is particularly popular.
At the rear of this building is an enclosed outdoor pool entertainment / BBQ area featuring a second pool and a spa. It is popular for open-air functions particularly when ‘the family’ visits. In close attendance is a manicured croquet lawn where its devotees exhibit their skills. Personally I’m only a spectator.
Before I forget I must mention our monthly publication, the Cooloola Waters Circular, composed and edited by a resident including some submissions by other residents. It is chock full of information concerning the village and its activities. It contains interesting snippets concerning life, which brings a smile to one’s face. It also contains the odd story that may interest you – all up, it is a top publication.
Fortunately we are blessed with an extensive shopping centre within 250mtrs from the resort. It is no longer the chore that it once was. It caters for all our needs from medical services down to the purchase of a needle. It also serves as a meeting place, I often encounter friends. There is nothing like a bit of a chat.
With me playing golf is a passion, particularly on the Tin Can Bay Golf Course which is only 3 minutes from the village. For those who are inclined there is an attached bowls club to this facility. I avoid this pursuit as I found it a little strenuous. It would be remiss of me not to mention the wonderful spacious club which services both of these utilities. There are other sporting facilities available, such as another bowls club, the Sleepy Lagoon Hotel which features a well visited T.A.B. facility, and across the road from the hotel are tennis courts and even a local cricket club. For the people whose interests are nautical there is a marina, a fully equipped yacht club with sailing, canoeing, dragon-boating and fishing affiliates. I am past these pursuits; however, they may suit others.
Well this has been a quick summary of my life at the village; why would I ever want to leave it? It is not designed, and will never grow, as a large, impersonal retirement resort. All that I need is within reach and all the happiness which I found here is still with me every day.
Whatever you are looking for, chances are you’ll find it here. So do yourself a favour; come and visit Cooloola Waters Retirement Resort and see for yourself!
